What is 1(F) Squadron

1(F) Squadron is a dedicated ground attack squadron within RAF AIR UK DCS group. We operate RAZBAM’s AV-8B Harrier II N/A. Within our air wing we conduct air operations in support of ground troops. This includes Close Air Support, Air Interdiction, Offensive Counter Air missions and Armed Reconnaissance.

We operate from both land and sea. The unique VSTOL capabilities gives the Harrier an advantage over other attack aircraft, as we can operate from both conventional airfields, aircraft carriers and Forward Operating Bases.
