Following a rapid turnaround after Sortie 5, JTF Command has ordered the continuation of the air campaign, shifting focus to one of the last remaining operational airbases in Syria—Palmyra Airbase. Intelligence indicates the presence of two AN-24 cargo aircraft on the main apron, offloading unknown heavy weaponry. These assets represent an immediate threat and have been designated as primary targets.
A coordinated air strike will be executed to destroy both aircraft. A secondary objective is to crater the runway, rendering the airfield temporarily inoperable and denying its use for further operations. The base is heavily defended by a mix of SA-2, SA-6, and SA-15 surface-to-air missile systems, requiring a tightly synchronized SEAD effort to suppress defenses ahead of the main strike package.
In parallel, USS Stockdale (DDG-106) has been authorized to launch a Tomahawk Land Attack Missile (TLAM) strike in coordination with the air assault. Targeting will prioritize either the cargo aircraft or the airstrip, depending on the planning session outcome.
The northern AO remains unchanged. The 95th FS A-10Cs will once again provide close air support and overwatch for Cavalry units inserting Delta Team into the objective town.
Palmyra's defenses are expected to be active and layered, with possible enemy air reaction from nearby sectors. Flight leads are advised to coordinate closely with SEAD elements and AWACS if available.
