What is Combined Ops

Combined Ops is a web-based platform built for DCS World users, designed to support virtual combat missions from initial planning through post-flight debriefing. The suite includes three main tools: DCS AOC Tools, DCS Mission Planner, and DCS Airspace. Each tool works as a standalone application for quick tasks, or alongside the others to support complex, multi-squadron events.

Standalone Tool Functionality

Single pilots and mission creators can use each tool individually depending on what they need to set up:

• DCS AOC Tools acts as the central command hub. You can upload a DCS mission file (.miz) to extract waypoints, unit types, target locations, drawings, and everything else automatically. From there, organizers can draft Air Tasking Orders (ATO), build frequency tables, write Special Instructions (SPINS), and create Challenge and Reply authentication lists without opening the DCS mission editor. • DCS Mission Planner focuses on individual flight preparation. Pilots can open interactive map displays, review route waypoints, calculate Takeoff and Landing Data (TOLD), set up Data Transfer Cartridge (DTC) profiles, and export printable A4 or A5 PDF data cards. • DCS Airspace provides live tactical tracking for controllers. Connected through a DCS Olympus server to keep performance impact low, it gives Air Traffic Controllers (ATC) and AWACS/GCI operators real-time radar tracks, Bullseye references, threat rings, and MGRS or WGS84 grids and a lot of information about missions, ATO, ACO, etc. Controllers can also access Precision Approach Radar (PAR) displays for bad-weather landings and target intercept tools. Combined Operation Across Tools

When used together, the three applications connect into a single workflow. Command decisions made in DCS AOC Tools—such as squadron assignments, airspace limits, and radio channels—flow directly into DCS Mission Planner. Pilots automatically receive pre-filled flight plans and data cards based on the main project settings. During the flight, ground and air controllers using DCS Airspace work from the exact same boundaries, callsigns, and frequencies set during planning, keeping everyone on the same page.

Squadron Network and Group Management

Beyond tactical tools, combinedops.org serves as a management hub for virtual flight groups. Squadrons can register their own group profile, manage member rosters, and assign administrative or leadership roles. Group leaders can set up multi-package missions, publish event calendars, and invite outside virtual squadrons to join joint operations. Individual pilots can browse open missions, sign up for available slots, and choose their coalition side. The platform handles sign-ups and tracks operational assignments—such as flight lead, wingman, controller, or AWACS operator—in one place.
