DCS Airspace Update: Advanced ATC Label Logic and Tactical Refinements
Dynamic Label Arbitration & Spatial Awareness
The primary focus of this release is the implementation of a sophisticated label management engine designed to replicate professional Air Traffic Control and AWACS display logic. This new system moves away from static positioning, utilizing a dynamic proximity algorithm that continuously evaluates the surrounding environment.
Labels for Air, Ground, and Naval units now intelligently navigate the screen to occupy "void" spaces, actively preventing overlap with other data blocks or radar plots. A core feature of this update is the 180° frontal protection zone, which ensures the airspace ahead of a unit’s vector remains unobstructed. This ensures peak legibility during complex, high-density operations, allowing controllers to maintain a clear tactical picture at all times.
Intercept Geometry & Defensive Overlay Improvements
- Lead Pursuit Calculations: Technical constraints affecting the Cut-off intercept route have been fully addressed. The tactical computer now provides accurate lead pursuit vectors, ensuring reliable geometry for target engagement and interceptions.
- IADS Visual Integration: To streamline the interface, the visibility of IADS Group Commands is now synchronized with the Threats Opacity control. This integration allows for a cleaner UI by adjusting the prominence of command structures in line with other defensive network elements.
DTC Development & Native Platform Support Work continues on the DCS Mission Planner module, specifically regarding the evolution of Data Transfer Cartridge (DTC) capabilities. Development is currently centered on optimizing integration with native DCS features, ensuring that mission-critical data transitions from the planning phase to the cockpit with maximum fidelity.
